This activity consisted of an in-person teaching session delivered to undergraduate medical students at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
The session introduced the principles of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM), the role of Cochrane, and the use of systematic reviews to inform healthcare decision-making. Key concepts covered included the hierarchy of evidence, the methodology of systematic reviews, and their application in clinical practice guidelines and shared decision-making with patients.
The session aimed to improve understanding of how high-quality evidence is generated, synthesized, and translated into practice. Students were engaged through examples and discussion to encourage critical appraisal and awareness of reliable sources of evidence.
