Cochrane Balearic Islands secured €17,939.46 in competitive funding from the Directorate General for Universities, Research and Higher Artistic Education of the Government of the Balearic Islands, through its DIV25 call for grants supporting the organisation of science communication and dissemination activities. The funding supported the development of a public outreach campaign aimed at promoting access to reliable, evidence-based health information.
The main activity consisted of an outdoor campaign displayed at 32 public transport advertising sites across Palma from 1 to 15 June 2026. Five different evidence-based health messages were produced in both Catalan and Spanish, addressing topics such as intermittent fasting, low-carbohydrate diets, insomnia, blue-light filtering lenses, and the interpretation of individual research studies. Each poster included a QR code providing direct access to evidence-based resources, mainly from Cochrane Responde and Nutrimedia.
The campaign was extended beyond public spaces through the distribution of materials across all 46 primary healthcare centres in Mallorca, public hospitals, the University of the Balearic Islands and ADEMA. It was complemented by institutional communication, web content, press activities and dissemination through LinkedIn, X and Bluesky. During the campaign, the linked online resources received 379 visits from 337 unique visitors. The initiative helped increase the visibility of Cochrane and facilitated public access to reliable, evidence-based health information.
