4th Methods Forum: Building Bridges Between Clinical Research and Evidence Synthesis

No one could be identified who was willing to speak from the perspective of research funders.
How can clinical research and evidence synthesis be more closely connected? This question took centre stage at the 4th Methods Forum of the Cochrane Germany Foundation on 19 June 2026 in Freiburg (13 speakers, 78 participants).
Held mainly in English under the motto “Building Bridges Between Clinical Research and Evidence Synthesis”, the Methods Forum brought together perspectives from across the research landscape, including clinical researchers, authors of systematic reviews and health technology assessments (HTAs), study centres and ethics committees. The programme also highlighted ways to gain an efficient and up-to-date overview of existing evidence, identify evidence gaps and communicate research needs more effectively.
