The 2025 edition of the post-graduate course "Research Methods in Health and Medicine" is part of the curriculum of the PhD Program in Clinical and Health Services Research and MSc Program in Health Evidence and Decision-Making, at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto; and is jointly organized with the Porto Associate Center of Cochrane Portugal. This course is open for enrollment to PhD and MSc students, as well as to external students, healthcare professionals, and researchers.
Date and Duration: from 03 October 2025 to 10 January 2026 (40 contact hours - theoretical and practical sessions)

This course aims to give comprehensive practical and theoretical training in research methods applied to the fields of health and medicine, particularly focused on developing skills of critical appraisal and appropriate design, planning and implementation of health research and scientific evidence, promoting evidence-based decision-making and following Cochrane's standards, recommendations and values.
