The Geographic Group Directors Meeting, held on 30 October 2025 at Ikonik Lisbon as part of the Cochrane Leaders Meeting, brought together Geographic Group Directors, members of the CGG Executive, CET representatives, and invited speakers—including the Director of Cochrane Indonesia, Prof. Detty—who participated actively throughout the discussions. The meeting focused on restructuring CGG governance, revising tier functions, strengthening support systems and incentives, and aligning Geographic Group activities with Cochrane’s overarching strategic direction. Key agenda items included reviewing operational challenges, evaluating proposed models for an improved tier system, refining transparent upgrade–downgrade processes, and exploring mechanisms to promote equity, efficiency, and sustainability across regions. Prof. Detty contributed significantly to discussions on regional challenges, governance transparency, and the practical implementation of tier criteria within low- and middle-income settings. Participants also shared country case examples, engaged with the CEO regarding Cochrane’s evolving strategy, and identified priority action steps—including refining naming conventions, clarifying indicators and timelines for governance processes, confirming the tier structure model, and formulating baseline and performance-linked incentives—to support the phased rollout beginning in 2026.
