This four-day workshop (four half-days) is aimed at health scientists, students, physicians, and healthcare professionals who work with meta-analyses as part of evidence syntheses or wish to further develop their methodological skills in this area.
Content and Objectives:
Participants will learn the key methodological aspects of meta-analyses and will be able to both interpret and critically evaluate their results. Through interactive lectures and exercises, the course covers the fundamentals of the following topics:
Methodology of meta-analyses
p-values and 95% confidence intervals
Dichotomous and continuous effect measures
Common (fixed)-effect model and random-effects model
Heterogeneity in meta-analyses
Meta-analyses using RevMan and R (introduction)
